Trajectory tracking using LSPIV
Trajectory tracking is a technique for determining a velocity field and the streamlines on a flow surface, by analysing the displacement of surface patterns. The method consists in comparing photos taken at regular intervals over a period of time, with the same viewing angle.
By using software to analyse how the shapes move from one image to the next, the flow direction and velocity are deduced to a level of detail dependent on the density of the patterns used.
